Why BMI Still Matters (and What It Doesn't Tell You)

BMI is a 200-year-old formula. It doesn't know if you're muscular, pregnant, or dehydrated. So why do we still measure it? Because for 95% of people who walk into our studio, BMI tells the truth.
If your BMI is above 27 and you're not a competitive athlete, you're carrying excess fat. It really is that simple. The number is a starting line, not the finish line.
What we add to BMI: waist-to-hip ratio, body-fat percentage, and resting heart rate. Together they paint a far more accurate picture than the bathroom scale ever could.
Track these numbers every two weeks. Watch them move. That data is the most powerful motivator in fitness — far more powerful than the mirror.
